TRANSITORY

I will be showing from two different series at the White Pines Place (7908 High School Rd, Elkins Park, Pennsylvania 19027). One is a series of self-portraits in abandoned locations utilizing a plastic sheet. The other series, my daily self-portrait project for 2014, is digital double exposures—an abstract nude self-portrait and an additional photo taken each day, then layered in Photoshop to create the double exposure effect. I began the series on January 1st. My plan is to be showing some mixed media pieces using older photographs as well.

ALSO! The incredibly talented improv group Bright Invention will be performing after the reception (at 8pm), pulling from a basket of my photographs for prompts (photos they will have never seen). These photos will be self-portraits as well as personal family photos. I cannot wait to see what they do and I strongly encourage you to get tickets to this once-in-a-lifetime event! I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of White Pines as a sponsored artist, and a longtime supporter and friend! The creative energy from the artists and performers involved is consistently inspiring. The event we have planned with Bright Invention is what White Pines is all about. My art is solitary by nature, so the opportunity to collaborate in this way is wonderful.

The show will be up by July 7th, opening reception on July 12th, and will run until through the 27th.
